Welcome to Our Woods

Welcome to Our Woods is a community member-owned organisation based in Treherbert, working across the Upper Rhondda to support local people, nature and the wider landscape. Its work focuses on community wellbeing, food resilience and long-term care for local natural resources.

The organisation is involved in a wide range of local projects, including volunteering, education, lifelong learning, food-growing, woodland activity, environmental work and community enterprise. It is also connected with the Rhondda Skyline work, which brings local people, public bodies and partner organisations together to shape a more sustainable future for the surrounding forests and valley landscape.

Welcome to Our Woods is also linked with practical reuse and sustainability projects, including Crop Cycle Treherbert, Coedcae Community Orchard and community renewable energy work. Welsh Government case study material records a 27kW run-of-river hydropower development in Cwm Saebren, Treherbert, developed through Welcome To Our Woods Ltd and partners.
